School nurses in
Vermont are required to have the following:
SCHOOL NURSE
 |
Requires an earned Baccalaureate degree
|
 |
Current Vermont RN License
|
 |
Current CPR Certificate
|
 |
Current First Aid Certificate
|
 |
2 years of nursing experience within the last 4 years
|
 |
Completion of an approved
educational school nurse orientation program and
|
 |
|
ASSOCIATE SCHOOL NURSE
 |
Requires Associate's
Degree/Diploma from an accredited nursing program
|
 |
Current Vermont RN License
|
 |
Current CPR Certificate
|
 |
Current First Aid Certificate
|
 |
4 years of clinical nursing
experience that must include community health and pediatric nursing
|
 |
Completion of an approved
educational school nurse orientation program and
|
 |
|
Although not required by the state of
Vermont, you may want to consider obtaining
National School Nurse Certification.
